ABOUT ASTROLOGY
Astrology is the ancient art of foretelling the future of
human beings from the positions of the stars and other heavenly
bodies. When in 1066 AD a great comet flared across the
sky, astrologers prophesied the death of a king and events that
would change the history of the world. A few months later Harold,
the king of Saxon, England, was slain at the battle of Hastings and England came under the rule of the Norman's but it is now
known that the particular comet known as the Haley's comet returns
every 75 years.
Until about 200 years ago,
almost every king had an official astrologer. The German ruler
Adolf Hitler was said to have consulted an astrologer before he
made any important decision.
The great Astronomer Ptolemy
(Claudis Ptolemaeus (100-180 AD)) who lived in Egypt was first
and foremost an astrologer. The Almanest compiled by him included
the idea that Earth was the center of the Universe. The Book Of
Fixed Stars by the Persian astronomer Al Sufi (903-986 AD) listed
the position of more than 1,000 stars.
